Type 2 Diabetics can be managed with proper food diet.. You should break the 3 large meals to 6 smaller meals. Food should be taken on time. Tablets should be taken on time. And we must include exercises like walking, aerobics in your lifestyle.
The one below is South Indian style diet chart for Type 2 Diabetics. This is a general chart given to my aunt by Doctors. You can use this one as reference. Most of the doctors in Tamilnadu suggest a similar chart.
Early Morning
Breakfast Include any one from the following option
Mid-Day Snack
Lunch
Evening Snack
Dinner Include any one from the following option
Note: Men could add 1/2 cup of more rice, 1 Dosa or 1 Chapatis in addition, 1 Biscuit in addition

South Indian Diet Chart for Diabetes Type 2
Early Morning
- Coffee or Tea with Half Sugar or No Sugar
- 2 Fiber Biscuits
Breakfast Include any one from the following option
- 1 bowl of Oats Porridge or Millet Porridge
- 2 Millet Dosas with Chutney
- 1 small bowl of Wheat Rava Upma
- 2 Egg Whites with Toasted Wheat Bread
Mid-Day Snack
- 1 bowl of light soups
- Buttermilk
- half apple or raw guava
Lunch
- 1/2 bowl of rice or 2 chapathis
- 1/2 bowl of dhal or sambar
- 1 bowl of vegetables
- spinach, egg, fish and egg on alternate days
- 2 tsp of curd
Evening Snack
- Coffee or Tea with Half Sugar and 2 Fiber Biscuits
- 1 bowl of soup
- 1/2 cup Sundal
Dinner Include any one from the following option
- 2 Millet Dosas with Chutney
- 1 small bowl of Ragi Semiya, Millet Upma
- 2 Chapatis with a vegetable side dish
Note: Men could add 1/2 cup of more rice, 1 Dosa or 1 Chapatis in addition, 1 Biscuit in addition
