Ragi Paal Kozhukattai | Finger Millet Steamed Dumplings | Low Fat Dessert

Ingredients

  • Rice/ Finger Millet Flour – 1 cup
  • Rice Flour – 2 Tablespoons
  • Soaked Urid Dal – 2 Teaspoons
  • Raw Sugar/ Jaggery – ΒΌ cup
  • Coconut – 2 Tablespoons
  • Cardamom – 2
  • Ghee – 1 Teaspoon
  • Cashew Nuts – 10 to 15

Quick Procedure

  • Take ragi flour in a bowl and add 1 cup of water.. Mix it well.. In a blender take mixed ragi flour, rice flour and urid dal.. Grind it to a fine paste adding a cup of water..
  • Heat a pan.. Add the ragi, rice mixture and keep stirring continuously.. It will start thickening, little by little.. At last you will get a big large ball..
  • Apply little coconut oil in your hands and make small small balls out of the big large ragi ball.. Flatten the small balls slightly so that it get cooked quickly.. Drop these ball in well boiling water.. Let it get cooked now..
  • Take coconut and cardamom in a blender.. Add milk and grind this mixture..
  • Check whether the ragi balls got cooked well.. Add raw sugar or jaggery.. Add coconut mixture.. Allow these to boil and raise one time..
  • Add cashew nuts roasted in ghee.. Now ragi pal kozhukattai is ready..
