Whenever I make this wheat dosa, I remember my grandma.. She makes it more and more crispier.. I have never seen her pouring lots of oil into it.. Though she will make it crispier.. Whenever some unexpected guests visit out home, she used to make this Dosa.. It will be very quick to make.. That might be the reason.. Later we completely dropped this recipe in our home.. And after a very long time.. That is exactly when I started my weight loss diet I repeatedly made this recipe.. This was my guilt-free dinner item.. This was my weight loss dinner dosa.. Instead of making chapatis, I love going ahead with simple wheat dosas..
I remember one day my neighbor asking me why I am using wheat instead of rice.. Both are carbohydrates.. This was her question.. Yes, I agree both are carbs.. There are two difference between rice and wheat.. First thing the glycemic index is different.. Second thing is the fiber in wheat.. These two points make wheat as an important food in a weight watchers menu.. I guess this post would help you to get an idea on wheat dosa and a few of you would try this dosa instead of chapathis on a busy day..
Wheat Dosa or Godhumai Dosai

Servings: 3 of 3 Dosas each | Calories: 200 per Serving
Ingredients
Wheat Flour | 1 cup - 2 Teaspoons |
Rice Flour | 1/2 cup |
Asafoetida | a pinch |
Cumin Seeds | half Teaspoon |
Salt and Oil | little |
Quick Procedure
Take required ingredients... Mix altogether and add 2 cups of water.. Mix well and form it to a thick batter.. |
If you add more water in the beginning, it will form lumps and will take time to get solved.. |
Add more water and make it to a thin batter.. When poured, it should flow easily and give somewhat thin strands.. |
Now the batter is ready.. Heat a tawa.. Add little oil and pour the batter along the corners and then fill in the middle.. |
Apply little oil if you wish and turn it back, one cooked on the top.. |
Cooking is done once it turn crispy and cooked on both sides.. Now the dosa is ready to serve.. |
