Keerai Dosai or Spinach Dosa

keerai dosai

I give full credits to the recipe to Vinayaga Hotel or Tea Stall in Tenkasi. Whenever we go to Coutrallam, we would go to the stall and have our favorite variety of Dosas. One of my favorite dosas is Keerai Dosai. I love the flavor and color of the dosa. In some hotels they just add little spinach to regular dosa batter and make dosas out of it. The taste will not be that much good. I wanted them to be spicy and flavorful. But in this shop, they spiced it up and made a very nice feast. They made it fresh in their kitchen and there was nothing like a secret recipe. I could see them sauteing, mixing and making dosa. Learnt the recipe and started preparing at home. Their recipe includes arai keerai or siru keerai.

I have tried this recipe with palak keerai. You could try with any other kind of green too. You may try drumstick leaves, arai keerai or siru keerai. The result will depend on the flavor of the spinach you are going to use. Adding a little bit of spices, make the dosas too tasty. Include this iron rich recipe in your daily diet.
