Are you really stressed out of weight gain and that too because of your evening snacking habit ? Don't worry. A lot of us have such habit. Once, we go to cafeteria in evenings we lose ourself in the ocean of snacks, chats and fries.
There is a number of ways to make this snacking healthy. You can have sundal, sprouts chats, fruit chats, dahi chats and this kind of kozhukattai too. I love this kozhukattai to have along with kara chutney or tomato chutney.
It will be filling and sometimes we won't even need a dinner.
It is very simple to make. There is no overhead job with mixing rice flour and that too knowing the correct patham. Even bachelors can give a try out of this recipe. There wont be any taste difference from regular kara kozhukattai.
Only the calories and making time is less. Good right ?

Ingredients
thin poha - 1 cup
mustard seeds, urid dhal, chana dal - each 1/4 teaspoon
red chillies - 1, cut into pieces
curry leaves - little
coconut pieces - little
Quick Procedure
Soak aval or poha for 5 minutes, adding salt. Press it with fingers and drain water from the aval. Spread it over a plate and dry it for few minutes.
Heat a pan. Add mustard seeds, chana dal, urid dhal. Let them get a golden colour. Add coconut pieces, red chillies and curry leaves. Fry them for a minute. Switch off the flame.
Add drained aval and mix well. Add salt if needed and Mix well.
Make medium sized balls out of it and steam it in an idli steamer. Aval Kara Kozhukattai will be ready in simple steps.
