Chettinad Mushroom Soup

Mushrooms are natural supplements of Vitamin D. Mushroom increases vitamin D, which is good for skin , teeth and bones. People in low sunlight areas can include mushrooms in their diet often.

I referred the recipe from cooking jingalala. Only a mild modification. The soup tastes really good. It tastes like mutton soup. It is easy to make also. It is a one pot recipe.

Ingredients
  • 10 buttons of mushroom
  • 2 to 3 shallots
  • 1 small tomato
  • small piece of ginger
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • some chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 Bay leaf
  • 1/4 tsp curry masala powder
  • 1/8 tsp pepper powder and turmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp Gingelly Oil

Quick Procedure
  • Heat a pressure cooker. Add gingelly oil. Add bay leaf, chopped shallots, mushrooms, tomatoes, crushed ginger, crushed garlic and coriander leaves. Saute till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add turmeric powder, curry masala powder, pepper powder and salt. Saute well.
  • Add 2 to 3 cups of water and let it boil. Pressure cook the soup for 2 to 3 whistles on high to medium flame.
  • Soup will be ready. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

Chop the required ingredients and get everything ready.

Saute well, after adding the powders.

Pressure cook the soup for 2 to 3 whistles on high to medium flame.

Soup will be ready. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
