Red Cabbage Poriyal | Purple Cabbage Thoran

red cabbage thoran

Purple Cabbage or Red Cabbage has more vitamin and nutrients compared to regular green cabbage. They are not frequently seen it in markets. In some supermarkets, we can to see this beautiful and colorful leafy vegetable.

As my doctor advised me to take a lot of red colored vegetables, I often pick beetroots and red keerai from markets. When I get bored of red keerai and beetroots, I started using this red cabbage. As I said early, I love cabbage. So this red cabbage became my favorite.

It was little bit hard and hence, I thought that it will take more cooking time. But it has the same cooking time as regular cabbage. I made this red cabbage poriyal or purple cabbage thoran in the same way I make usual thorans. Meanwhile, I added little ginger to take out the weird flavor.
