SAVE YOUR MONEY, you spend unplanned for WEIGHT LOSS - PART 1

Many of us solidly know that we are wasting our pennies in the name of health. Specially, people who aim at weight loss are tend to waste money in a jiffy. Why this happens is because of hasty, hurry and greed to achieve easier. Believe me, NOTHING in this world can be achieved easier. Health is the prettiest and costliest thing. If we have enough knowledge and think twice before buying anything, we can definitely lower our expenditure and be successful. I've myself struggles a lot to lose weight. From my school days to marriage, i have bought almost everything I can to reduce weight. Really bad. As of now, I know how to manage and cu the cost. I am going to list you a few areas or products in which we guys would have been wasting till date. Most of you would agree me at the end of this post. Let us see what things attract us and make us buy without second thoughts.

Green Tea

Most of us don't like green tea. As we have heard again and again that green tea helps more in weight loss, we just pick a packet of green tea and fill our shopping cart. Actually, green tea is costly. Most of the people do not like the taste at all. So next time you see it, think twice whether you actually need it. If you are a first timer, pick a sample pack.Try it and then buy again. Never buy a bulky pack, as the cost is effective for bulk packs. If you want to be more economical, you could buy tea dust from estate areas or simply use other kind of teas like ginger tea, cinnamon tea, mint tea or tulsi tea.

Breakfast Cereals

You would definitely agree with me in this point. Not only oats, we buy breakfast cereals like corn flakes, fiber flakes, oats flakes and all the whole wheat cereal varieties. When we pick it and drop in the shopping cart, everyday mornings come in front of eyes. Eating cereals with  milk. But are we doing that really ? Specially the oats stuff. People who have oats more than two days a week are hard to find. So this breakfast cereal are is critical. Please keep in mind that breakfast cereals are costly.

Whole Grain Bread, Pastas and products

My god, when we plan to shed off weight, suddenly a craze for whole grain products shoot up. But really a person, who is a foodie can never live on whole wheat products, They need to pull them in little by little. So buy only a little quantity of the stuff at initial days. You could mildly increase later. Give special attention to whole grain breads. They are almost wasted, except the first 2 slices.

Millets and Bean Varieties

Yep. This happen. We decide to snack on beans and peas. We decide to buy a number of variety in beans thinking that we will have them daily. Later only we will start feeling the extra work in soaking and cooking them. Finally we threw it out of the kitchen after a year. So buy the beans in a very very minimal quantity and try to use it, The same applies for millets. You need to use only a limited quantity of millets in your diet. So keep an eye. Also learn to cook millets and then buy then in more quantity.

Kiwis

There are really costly in India. I believe in seasonal fruits. I love having guavas and gooseberries, when I was in India, the reason is that they are seasonal, cheap and nutritious. It is not a good idea to buy kiwi, when gooseberry is available. Even after knowing these, some of you might wish to try kiwi. Please buy only one fruit at a time. Because many people hate the taste and the itchy feeling you get after eating it. So kiwi is an area you need to be more and more careful. Costly and prone to wastage.

Broccoli, Cabbage and Sprouts

What I said to kiwi applies to broccoli, cabbages and sprouts.  I would like to advise you to use home-made sprouts. Many of us don't know how to cook broccoli. So please buy only a little, try good recipes and then start buying them from shops. If they are not local and seasonal, better don't buy them. Cabbages are bit cheaper. Still many of us waste them. So keep a watch over these.

Brown Rice

Do you still have a bag of brown rice lying in your kitchen. Many people buy brown rice even before knowing how to cook it or the recipes using it. They buy use once or twice and find it hard to eat. Finally they will just decide not to use it and simple the bag will sit in the kitchen. you must know how to make some chinese and mexican dishes before buying brown rice. Because brown rice tastes good as a burrito bowl or fried rice, compared to having it with sambar or puli kuzhambu. Some brands of brown rice are too costly. So think twice before buying a brown rice.

Brown Sugar

White sugar is the real enemy for weight loss. Some of us correctly substitute palm sugar or jaggery. But a few of us go for buying brown sugar, voluntarily. I won't say that it is a wrong choice. But what to do. Some of us don't like the smell of some brands of brown sugar. Be specific in selecting a good brand of brown sugar and using it.

Remaining Areas, I will continue in PART 2
