We are going to see Quinoa Peas Pulao Recipe. I already told that I am almost skipping rice to make my PCOD Diet, successful. So there is no other go except including something similar in texture like rice. Quinoa is in toplist. I have tried almost every single recipe for one pot meal or variety rice, using Quinoa. This Quinoa Peas Pulao Recipe is one among them. I have made it in same way I make regular Peas Pulao.

Just because, I bought a full bag of Quinoa, I am using that often now.  As the texture is similar to rice, I like the outcome. Quinoa Pulao Recipe

 

This Quinoa Peas Pulao is made in the same way I follow for regular Peas Pulao. No much difference. As the preparation time is less, it can be taken as a lunch box menu to office. It is one the best recipes to include in Indian diet lunch menu. I mean your Indian style real weight loss menu can have this Quinoa Peas Pulao. You will never have a feel of missing Rice.

If you are working and have a tension of rushing to office early in the morning, this recipe will be useful to you. You can prepare it in just 20 minutes and pack, while getting ready. It is also a Bachelor Friendly Recipe. I mean, no much cooking knowledge is needed to make this.

Ingredients

Whole Spices

  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 2 Cloves
  • small stick of Cinnamon (pattai)

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Quinoa
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Peas
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 Onion (sliced)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Green Chillies (slit)
  • 1 cup Chopped Coriander and Mint Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and drain quinoa. Wash and clean green peas. Finely chop onion. Finely chop coriander leaves and mint leaves.

  2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add all the whole spices. Saute till they release a nice aroma.

  3. Add onion and green chillies. Saute till onion becomes soft and transparent. Now, add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes off.

  4. Next we have to add quinoa and saute for few minutes. Add 1 and half cup of water, required salt, green peas, chopped mint and coriander leaves. Pressure cook for 3 whistles in medium flame.

  5. Open the lid after the pressure decreases. Spread the pulao on a plate for few minutes and then serve it hot.

Recipe Notes

  • First note down the Quinoa:Water ratio for this Pulao. For 1 cup of Quinoa, use 1.5 cups of water.
  • Soak Quinoa for 10 minutes to improve the texture.
  • As it is fresh peas, it takes less
