Lemon Quinoa Recipe - Indian Style

  • 1 Cup Cooked Quinoa
  • half Lemon
  • little Salt
  • little chopped Coriander Leaves


  • 2 tsp Gingelly Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Chana Dal
  • 10 Peanuts
  • 1/4 tsp Grated Ginger
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • little Curry Leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • a pinch Hing or Perunkayam



  1. Cook Quinoa perfectly and cool it down by spreading on a plate. 

  2. Squeeze and extract lemon juice from half of lemon. Remove the seeds.

Tempering and Making

  1. Heat gingelly oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and wait till it sputters well. Add chana dal and peanut and wait till they turn golden brown.

  2. We can now add grated ginger, chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder and hing(asafoetida). Give saute once or twice so that we get a nice aroma.

  3. Switch off the flame and add Lemon Juice.

  4. Add Quinoa to this, sprinkle some salt and give a gentle mix.

  5. Finally, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and serve it.
