In this post, we are going to see Kuthiraivali Kichadi Recipe. Kuthiraivali is a Millet. It is called Barnyard Millet. This Kuthiraivali Kichadi Recipe is so simple to make in pressure cooker. You can include this Barnyard Millet Khichdi as a breakfast or lunch in your diet.
Wash and clean Kuthiraivali Rice and Moong Dal. Chop vegetables and get them ready
Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cinnamon, cumin, curry leaves and cashews. Saute till cashews turn golden brown.
Add onion, ginger garlic and chillies. Saute till onion becomes soft.
Add vegetables and tomatoes. Saute once or twice and add all the powders. ( turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder ). Mix it up.
Add kuthiraivali rice and moong dal, 3.5 cups of water, salt and green peas.
Pressure cooker for 3 to 4 whistles in medium flame.
After pressure releases, open and give a gentle mix. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve it.
