I have been thinking of posting lunch menus for special diets a long back. But I become hasty and finish the delicacies before clicking them. The reason is this. I love watching lunch menus. I keep on visiting some south indian food blogs like yummytummyaarthi, rakskitchen, jeyashriskitchen and chitrasfoodbook for the lunch menu ideas they have. Whether I try such lunch or not, I love staring at the pics. The pics are really a visual treat. It gives me some kind of joy. Thats the joy offered by food and its emotional connectivity.
Back to my topic. I have heard a lot of people saying that the lunch menu of special diets will not be appealing. To make them take a turn and to inspire a lot of health conscious people to have a proper lunch menu, I have started this section. This is a simple lunch menu. This is diabetic friendly. You can also have this as a weight loss lunch. The combination is really good.
It has the following items
1) a cup of varagarisi sadham (please remember that you can have millet as lunch only thrice a week )
2) 3/4 cup of sorakkai puli kuzhambu without coconut
3) a cup of Broccoli Poriyal
4) one small tumbler of poosanikkai moru or ash gourd buttermilk
Varagarisi Sadham, Soraikkai Kuzhambu, Broccoli Thoran and Poosanikkai mor |
Varagarisi Sadham or Kodo Millet Rice |
Sorakkai Puli Kuzhambu or Bottle Gourd Kuzhambu WITHOUT COCONUT |
Broccoli Poriyal or Broccoli Thoran |
Poosanikkai Moru or White Pumpkin Buttermilk
