Kollu Podi | Horse Gram Powder | Kollu Recipes #1


If you need a natural fat burner, there is nothing equal to this Horse Gram.. It produces more heat in the body and makes you lose weight by dissolving fat.. Also there are a number of tasty recipe available.. Ask you mom or grandma, they will definitely tell at-least 3 recipes with this hot hot gram..

This recipe is one I learnt from Chef Jacob's Kitchen (nearly 4 years before).. I noted it and made this powder as I was searching for a lot of easy ways to reduce weight.. I hope this one is useful to you.. This is a Indian weight loss recipe..

Kollu Podi or Horse-gram Powder

Recipe Source: Chef Jacob's Kitchen |   Preparation Time: 30 minutes     
Serving Size: 20 (2 Tablespoons each) |  Calories: 30 per Serving

Ingredients
Horse Gram1 cup
Bengal Gram2 Tablespoons
Red Chillies4 or 6
Curry Leavesa handful
Garlic Cloves7-12 cloves
Asafoetida¼ Teaspoon
Tamarind2 inch strip (dry & torn)

Quick Procedure
Take required ingredients.. Heat a pan.. all ingredients except horse-gram and asafoetida.. Dry roast them until all of them are roasted fine.. This is just like you do for Idli Gun Powder..
Remove the roasted ingredients to a pan and let them cool down.. Add horse gram to the hot pan and roast it till it is heated up..
Remove horse gram to a plate and add asafoetida to it.. Asafoetida will get roasted in the heat of other items.. No need to roast separately.. Add salt.. This roasted items should be cooled well..
Take them in a blender and powder it nicely.. Once done, add tamarind torn into strips and give a last pulse.. This will increase the taste of the powder.. Cool the powder once again and store it in bottles.. This will come with a shelf life of 3-5 months..
This powder can be used while making rasam.. This powder can be used for making Kollu Sadham.. Or it can be just added to rice and gingelly oil..
